About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Learning in German and English
  Our high-quality dual-immersion education helps students reach their full potential in a stimulating environment that fosters critical and imaginative thinking, a passion for lifelong learning and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

  Our well-balanced program provides rich project-based and differentiated learning experiences, fostering interests across all subject areas as well as social-emotional competency, critical thinking, artistic expression and physical motor skills.

Welcoming Our New Student Council Presidents

Democratic values in action: inspiring candidates, dedicated advisers, and an engaged student body came together for this year’s Student Council election.

This Tuesday, the entire student body gathered for an exciting and inspiring event: the official presentation of candidates for our next Student Council presidents (Schülervertretung = SV), alongside the introduction of our new Student Council Advisers. Thoughtfully planned and professionally run, the event was a true showcase of student engagement at its best.

Again and again, the candidates emphasized a message we fully stand behind—the importance of democratic processes, student participation, and shared responsibility for shaping our school community.

A heartfelt thank-you to all the students who stepped forward as candidates, showing dedication, courage, and commitment to keeping student participation vibrant and meaningful at GISSV. Congratulations to Eli and Eva, our newly elected Student Council leaders! We are excited to see you lead with vision and enthusiasm in the coming year.

We’re also deeply grateful to Ms. Schloetter, Ms. Troy, and Mr. Mohamoud for stepping into their roles as Student Council Advisers. Their support and mentorship will be key to helping student leadership flourish.

Finally, we want to express our sincere appreciation to our outgoing Student Council presidents, Kilian F. and Hassan M., and advisers Ms. Jardine and Ms. Schloetter. Your dedication, countless hours of hard work, and commitment to representing your peers have left a lasting mark on our community. Thank you for your leadership—you’ve set a fantastic example for those who follow.
