Preschool-12 Dual Language Education in
Two Locations in the Bay Area

Welcome by the Head of School

Welcome to the German International School of Silicon Valley (GISSV)

GISSV provides an outstanding educational curriculum that has been supported and accredited by the German Government as well as the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In 2019 we were officially confirmed as a renowned “Excellent German School Abroad” by the German Government.

As a member of a network of more than 140 German Schools Abroad, we offer a challenging curriculum for our students Preschool-Grade 12, culminating in two prestigious programs – German International Abitur and California High School Diploma.

In addition to the highest German and Californian academic standards and values focusing on critical thinking, the international aspect of the education that we offer is rooted in promoting cultural understanding and emotional intelligence. We have a cosmopolitan mindset, embrace the diversity of our community and support international understanding, intercultural dialogue, and sustainable development in practice.

With locations in Mountain View and San Francisco embedded in the global center of innovation, high-end technology, and social media we are proud to serve our community with the only German/American language immersion program on the West Coast that offers Preschool-Grade 12 dual language, bi-cultural education offering the dual diploma.

GISSV provides a home of academic excellence for an active, innovative, and caring community.

On behalf of the leadership team and the entire school community I would like to encourage you to learn about the rich academic and extracurricular programs GISSV has to offer by exploring our website and contacting us to schedule a tour!

Sincerely,

Thomas Spahn
