GERMAN IMMERSION SUMMER CAMP 2022
You have registered for the GISSV Summer Camp taking place at 117 Diamond St, San Francisco.
Enrollment for Summer Camp is on a first come, first served basis. Once capacities for sessions are reached, we cannot guarantee desired schedules or camp availability. Enrollment is from the waitlists when possible. Due to Covid Safety Regulations and Procedures, once enrolled in a level, students must remain in this level for the entire 2 weeks session.
If you need to change your summer plans, email us at email@example.com. Refunds for withdrawal will be issued using the schedule shown below:
- Withdrawal 28 days or more before the camp start date: 95% refund
- Withdrawal between 21 days and 27 days before the camp start date: 75% refund
- Withdrawal between 14 days and 20 days before the camp start date: 50% refund
- Withdrawal at later point: no refund
- Refunds will not be given if a student is asked to leave Summer Camp due to disciplinary issues.
- Refunds will not be given if a student gets sick.
- Refunds will not be given if a student has to quarantine.
- Refunds will not be given if classes will have to be held online due to directives from local authorities or policies of the school.
The GISSV may refuse services/entrance onto campus to anyone that does not comply with the Covid regulations and procedures put in place by the school. No refunds will be given in the event that a student or family does not comply with the regulations.
Lunch, Snacks, and Hydration
All students should pack their own snack and lunch in a cooled lunch box. There will be no snack offered other than occasional popsicles since it can get very hot in the summer. Parents have the option of purchasing a lunch delivery service through My Green Lunch. Students in Preschool should additionally bring food for the breakfast each morning. Please send all students with a refillable water bottle every day!
The GISSV is a nut-free campus. Please ensure that food never contains any nuts, nut butters, or nut flours.
All materials are included in the tuition. That includes any books, art supplies, and materials used in afternoon activities. Please bring a notebook and a pencil case to camp daily. (The only item parents might additionally pay for after registration is hot lunch.)
What to bring
All students should wear clothes that can get dirty and bring an extra shirt and shorts/pants each day.
Please wear closed-toed shoes/sandals. Wear sunscreen to camp, and bring extra to re-apply. A wide-brimmed sun hat is a must. Preschoolers should additionally bring a sheet, pillow, and blanket for nap time.
All students must wear a face mask at all times! Therefore, it would be good to bring multiple masks to school.

CITs sign themselves in and out each day on a separate list.
Parents´ first point of contact for all questions or concerns are the camp managers, who can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Camp managers are happy to communicate with parents in German or English.
Responsibility for Minors
Instructors and camp managers are responsible for students from the moment they have been dropped off at camp until they are picked up. If a student has not been picked up on time, the camp manager will continue to supervise.
Late Pick-up Fee
A student who has not been picked up when his/her camp option ends will stay with the camp manager until picked up. A late fee of $30 for every started 10 minutes applies.
Students who are not registered for Extended Care cannot “drop in”.
Emergencies & Injuries
In the case of an emergency, instructors and camp managers are expected to follow the guidelines they have been provided with by the Head of Camp Administration. Students are expected to follow the instructor’s directions. The camp managers and Head of Camp Administration issue all commands in an emergency.
Instructors are required to read through their class lists, and to make note of any reported allergies or health conditions. Parents are encouraged to contact camp managers in advance of camp to personally discuss any important health concerns.
Instructors and camp managers may not administer any medication to students, unless the parent has given notice of the medical condition during enrollment, and has provided the camp managers with a doctor’s note about dosage for the specific student. Parents and camp managers must agree on a safe space to store the medication that is inaccessible to young students.
Instructors and camp managers always tell parents about any injury or potential injury.
For small cuts, scrapes, and similar minor injuries, instructors and camp managers may wash injuries with soap and water, and will provide band-aids, but will not administer medications like Neosporin.
If a student has a concerning or potentially concerning injury (e.g. larger fall in playground, any injury to head or neck), camp managers will complete an Injury Report, file it with the Head of Camp Administration, and provide parents with an electronic copy.
If a student becomes seriously ill during camp, the instructor or camp manager will:
- If necessary, call 911.
- Call the camp managers or Head of Camp Administration for immediate support.
- Call the student’s parents using the contact information provided during registration.
- Stay with the student and the rest of the class until help arrives.
