About
- Welcome to GISSV
  The German International School of Silicon Valley is an independent, nonprofit preschool–grade 12 school with two locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Admissions
- Meeting Students’ Needs From Preschool Through High School
  GISSV welcomes students of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We serve students from two to eighteen years old.
- Enrollment
  The enrollment period begins during the months of January and February of each year for the upcoming school year. We also accept new students throughout the school year based on availability. Knowledge of the German language is required for all children who enroll after 1st grade (See also our German Fast Track Program).

Kindergarten Camp SF: Age 5 - 6

>>> Location: 117 Diamond Street, San Francisco

In a group of 12 kids with one GISSV instructor, or 15 kids and two GISSV instructors we begin to focus on the building blocks of academic German language learning.

Following German pedagogy for children who are preparing to enter school, our program blends crafts, imaginative play, outdoor time, music and movement, and early academic learning.

The instructors speak in German only, but will respond to both spoken English and German. Children from all language levels are welcome--from total beginner to native speaker.

We hope that your child will enjoy their group experience, learn a lot about the German language, be proud of what they accomplish, and meet many new friends.

Enrollment for Summer Camp is on a first come, first served basis.

Once capacities for sessions are reached, or if we do not have enough staff due to teacher's shortage, if not enough children sign up for a class, or if CDC guidelines change we cannot guarantee desired schedules or camp availability.

Enrollment from waitlists when possible.

Schedule

Sign up for a 2 week package for Half Day or Full Day Camp (AM Camp + PM Camp).

Half Day Camp: 9am - 1pm

Full Day Camp: 9am - 4pm

Registration is first come, first served, with caps on all programs. Register early to secure your desired schedule.

AM & PM Camp: Early German academics

Our Vorschüler share circle time, breakfast time, crafts, games, stories, and outdoor play, all designed to build German understanding, vocabulary, as well as pre-academic and social skills at the Kindergarten level. Every morning, students will also explicitly learn about the German alphabet and phonetics, to get them ready to read and write!

Weekly themes (see below) guide activities and provide vocabulary throughout the day.

Pack a little extra snack! Kids get hungry in camp!

Supervised Lunch

Supervised by our instructors, students from Vorschule enjoy outdoor lunch and games whenever possible.
