After fun Halloween celebrations our Mountain View 2nd graders learned about the Mexican tradition of the Dia de los Muertos at the end of October.
Halloween @ GISSV Mountain View
After fun activities in the morning and a party in the multipurpose room the Kibili-students went to the Front Office for trick-or-treating.
The older students started their celebrations at noon when our student representatives kicked off the Halloween Carnival. Students from all grades celebrated with haunted houses, a disco, games, spookylicious food in the "Grusel Cafe" and a costume contest.
Dia de los Muertos @ GISSV Mountain View
Thank you to parent Jimena Mateos, who introduced the Dia de los Muertos (Day of Dead) to our Mountain View 2nd graders. Together with the children she decorated an altar dedicated to Alexander von Humboldt with colorful decorations crafted by the students. At the end everyone received a piece of traditional and very delicious "pan de muerto".
