The students talked and learned about the connection between plants and humans, the photosynthesis and things a plant needs to grow. Then the hands-on activity started: First, students cleaned out one big planter box per group, tearing out all the weeds (and discovering some spiders along the way ;) ). Then they dug a hole and planted some lavender and even a small tree, all while taking care to water sufficiently. Afterwards, each student got the opportunity to plant their own sunflowers in a little pot - getting dirt, watering, planting seeds. In a final step, students drew the diagram.
