I moved to the Bay Area from Costa Rica in 2003 to expand my pursuit of new ways to meet multi-lingual challenges. I hold Bachelors of Arts degrees in German and English Language and Literature from the University of Osijek, Croatia, as well as a Bachelors of Arts degree in Spanish from the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, Barcelona, Spain.
Throughout my career I have been fortunate to teach both adolescent and adult students from diverse backgrounds. Their perceptions of life, ways of learning, and their capacity for friendship and support have enriched my life forever. My students have taught me how to balance idealism and realism in both my teaching style and my views on a foreign language acquisition.
Currently I teach specialized corporate German courses at the Goethe-Institut San Francisco. I am a Board Member and a regular conference contributor with FLANC (Foreign Languages Association of Northern California). Additionally, I am an active member of the MLA (Modern Language Association), New York, and the AATG (American Association of Teachers of German.
